Another one of my favourite carvings. These are Scarlet Ibis birds which are the national birds of Trinidad. You can see them in all their glory at the Caroni swamp in Trinidad. I recently went back and it’s still one of my favourite places.
This original print features 9 Scarlet Ibis birds in a swirl pattern forming a wheel.
These birds are printed onto a smooth, white, Somerset paper using a hand carved block in a pink and magenta ombre.
The paper has deckled edges on 2 sides and is 30cm by 32 cm and the image is 23.5 cm by 23.5 cm .
As each print is hand printed there are variations in the colour intensity, darkness and depth of each print. This is what makes each piece unique and is a feature of hand printed art.
All prints are packaged with a recycled cardboard backing and in a compostable clear sleeve.
