Another one of my favourite carvings. These are Scarlet Ibis birds which are the national birds of Trinidad. You can see them in all their glory at the Caroni swamp in Trinidad. I recently went back and it’s still one of my favourite places. The Ultramarine and Red ones look fabulous framed next to each other in large frames.
This original print features 9 Scarlet Ibis birds in a swirl pattern forming a wheel.
These birds are printed onto a smooth, white Somerset paper using a hand carved block in an ultramarine ombre or a red and orange ombre.
The paper has deckled edges on 2 sides and is 28 cm by 38 cm and the image is 23.5 cm by 23.5 cm.
As each print is hand printed there are variations in the colour intensity, darkness and depth of each print. This is what makes each piece unique and is a feature of hand printed art.
All prints are packaged with a recycled cardboard backing and in a compostable clear sleeve.
